Michael Jackson - Don’t Be Messin’ Round’ Demo

So… it leaked early.. Quelle fucking suprise.. Well done, Sony.

Far from Michael’s best work but it’s a’ight, I can see why it never made an appearance on an album. I’m glad this wasn’t hyped up too much.. This is the sort of thing I was expecting from unreleased demos to be honest, reminds me of the OTW demos; repetitive with simple instrumentation..

Dear, USA

Dear, USA

  • Question: are you going to the beatles: the lost concert" movie when it comes out next month? - Anonymous
  • Answer:

As far as I know, the movie is only screening in the US (and I live in the UK) so I won’t be seeing it until it gets a Blu-Ray release (fingers crossed).

Also, worth mentioning as I only realised it the other day, I haven’t been to a cinema in 2 years and the last thing I saw was Avatar, the only film I’ve ever seen get a standing ovation at the end. It was.. weird.

Getting nervous…

for tonight’s do or die game against Cardiff. We’re away from home, which has been to our advantage all season long but I think Cardiff by now will know that very well. They could park the bus or exploit our attacking nature by playing counter-attacking.

Too many times this season have we not turned up for the important games, 4-2 against Reading at home, 3-3 against Birmingham at home, 1-1 at Bristol City (a win there would have actually won us the Championship) and probably worst of all losing home and away to fucking Ipswich.. that 5-1 at Portman Road was embarrassing and you don’t deserve to win a league if you lose that bad even once in a season. (Sir Alex take note!)

Upton Park has been our Achilles heel this year. We’ve set a person record this season for away wins albeit in the Fizzy pop but that still has only got us third place which really says a lot about our home form. Many would suggest that it is the added pressure of the home crowd but that simply isn’t the case. Sam simply plays too negatively at home, that and teams come here to park the bus which is frustrating. Big Sam’s tactics are baffling at times. 1-0 up near halftime against Reading, two sloppy goals in quick succession and we’re losing 2-1, what does Sam do? Move Tomkins into midfield and bring off Noble (deserved Hammer of the Year) for another defender.. How on earth can you justify that in a auto-promo clash? It was a tactic Sam employed too many times and didn’t learn from.A way from home, however, we’ve been an absolute joy to behold at times (when Sam lets the boys attack) and Ricardo Vaz Te has really come through as a brilliant signing.

Our home form from our 14th February clash with Southampton, which ended 1-1, to our 3-3 nail-biter agaist Birmingham was SIX draws and one loss. Six draws. Many, including myself, were left wondering where Reading came from in the final run in. It seemed in February it was a fight for first between ourselves and The Saints but fair play to Reading, their players fought tooth and nail not only for promotion but for first place and they deserve it.

What are my predictions for tonight and the play-offs as a whole?

IF we play positive, attacking football we could conceivably take Cardiff apart like we have done so many times this season and I wouldn’t be surprised by…

Cardiff 0-3 West Ham

BUT taking into account that we have been prone to crumbling under pressure and playing negatively when we really need goals I’m gonna predict an optimistic, narrow win for tomorrow.

Cardiff 1-2 West Ham

and for the away leg I’ll be betting on..

West Ham 1-1 Cardiff

..just on the fact that we aren’t so good at home, sending us through to the final, where, I predict, we’ll meet Birmingham and win an absolutely nail-biting, heart attack inducing, palm sweating 1-0 win at Wembley with Marky Noble scoring a long range effort early in the first half.

Fingers crossed! COYI!

Getting seriously bored

waiting for Breaking Bad season 5, the Entourage movie and The Walking Dead season 3.

Breaking Bad especially as it’s the final season and most of the storylines were tied up in season 4 which means Jesse and Walt will be pretty much going on a new adventure and will hopefully be back in an RV seeing as the lab isn’t in use any more (spoiler but you should really have already watched it!). I really have a feeling the series will finish with Walt dying, I’ve felt that way since season one even if thinks he has ‘won’.

I only watched Entourage like 3 months ago. I watched all 8 seasons in a week and a half and now I just want to watch the movie before I forget what happens. The final season ended on a post-credits cliffhanger and I really want to see how it’s all finally tied up.

The Walking Dead is so awesome. The first half of Season 2 was so slow-paced but the pay-off at the mid-season finale was so worth the wait, I usually predict things like that (like the plane crash in BrBa) but I didn’t predict how they’d find Sophia and it was a truly great way to cap off the first half.

The second half was completely different, with a lot more action like the first season, which was good to see again. Finally getting rid of some of the more annoying characters, Dale and Shane being two that got on my nerves, now if only they could kill of Lori and Carl (and T-Dog LOL) I’d be happy. I can’t wait for season 3 and what they’ll find at the prison and who the stranger Andrea is saved by is.

Hurry up, July!!

I’ve been having a torrid time lately, which really stretches back over the last 12 months, (and if you want to go even further 3 years) and have yet again been abandoned by my friends so… I’m going to depress myself further by watching the Michael Jackson memorial from 7th July 2009 for the first time since I watched it LIVE on that day.. maybe it’s a bad idea but I’d rather get all this pent up emotion out at once like vomiting..

Sunshine, rainbows, etc. etc.

Rustyboots: Dear Russell Brand, Please don't blame your bad decisions on a "disease"

judyg8or:

cultureandjunk:

There is no question drug addiction is a bad thing but it’s 100% avoidable. I’m so sick of people blaming others for their own problems.

So is obesity, many forms of high blood pressure and type 2 diabetes. We don’t throw type 2 diabetics in jail for…

Drug taking is a decision. Addiction in any of it’s forms is an affliction/disease. Like Russell said, there are people who can take drugs and are relatively fine on it and those people don’t concern him. Russell’s point was that addicts need help through abstinence not punishment and we all as a society need education on the matter.

I feel for Russell. Since his divorce from Katy, he’s received nothing but criticism. ‘Pyromaniac’, really?! It’s a fucking dollar bill. Dude, go burn a bible, it will only make me like you more. Gahhh.. if I was famous.. the shit I’d get up to.. You’d think I was the devil..

Oh God.. Yes please!

BAD 25 IS OFFICIALLY COMING!

BAD 25 IS OFFICIALLY COMING!

  • Question: Everything you said about Russell is perfect. - lifeisnotabeach
  • Answer:

    I’m glad you think so.

I actually just finished watching a documentary on Jim Morrison and the parallels between Jim and Russell are uncanny. Both poets at heart, geniuses and Shakespeares of the modern age and most importantly, they are ultimately misunderstood by their generation. (They also look identical from the waist down, I swear Russell’s belts are all based on Jim’s)

All I can say is I’m glad Russell got off the drugs and never went back to them. It’s heart-warming to know that we’ll have Russell Brand around for a long time to come yet. :-)

I’ve been on a serious Russell Brand binge lately; consuming everything he’s ever done past and present. I’ve always had a soft spot for Russell and identified with his upbringing and family history and felt mine, although not nearly as traumatic, was quite similar. Also, how could I not love a man with such a blossoming vocabulary.
I was sitting here thinking to myself ‘I’d really love to meet Russell one day’ when I remembered ‘I HAVE!’. If I was to guess I’d say it was around 2006/07 when he was at the height of his popularity in the UK. Myself and my Dad were at a West Ham game getting ready to go to our seats, it must have been really close to kick off because we were the only ones left on the concourse, this is probably why Russell came striding through so quickly at this time; to avoid any attention from people. Which is understandable, his flamboyant (to say the least) style, which is one of the many things I love about him, isn’t so widely appreciated at Upton Park, where you’ll find much of the crowd is your stereotypical working class cockney type and because Russell had a rather unsettling encounter before where he ended up singing ‘Over Land And Sea’ at the top of his lungs with a group of Hammers fans in order to garner their acceptance.
Anyway, I recognised him immediately, he seems very tall as you can tell from just seeing him on tv, (although a quick google search tells me he is actually only 6’ 1”) I suppose his slender body, tight trousers and heels give him an even taller appearance. I don’t remember who it was who caught his attention out of me and my Dad but he was moving pretty quickly so we must have decided fairly rapidly that it was a photo we would try to get. Russell very kindly obliged and posed with my Dad as I snapped a quick photo. Although, he seemed somewhat distant and in a rush to get to his seat it was very kind of him to stop for us. I know I’d probably be like ‘Sorry, I’m in a hurry’ but he didn’t seem to mind stopping for fellow West Ham fans and working class people like ourselves.
I think Russell gets much too harsh a judgement from the press; particularly British tabloids. The ‘Sachsgate’ incident was way over publicised, especially as whether he and Jonathan Ross actually did anything wrong is a matter of opinion. Personally, I think it was fucking hilarious.
I’ve just started re-reading ‘My Booky Wook’ and I’ve ordered ‘My Booky Wook 2’. I’m interested to see what Russell does next, I feel like he’s totally ruled out a return to British comedy, and frankly I don’t blame him. He’s doing proper acting (something he’s always loved) in big Hollywood films, so we know his ambition is being satisfied and I’ll bet the money’s not bad either, so why would you come back to shitty ol’ England when half the country hates him?
I honestly thought his marriage to Katy Perry would last too, I thought it was an odd pairing, even if she does come across as quite kooky and different, but Russell wasn’t likely to give up bachelorhood lightly. Also, the way he described his love for Katy in interviews sounded so fairytale and perfect. Sad it had to end really.
Good luck to Russell in all his future endeavours though, I’ll be keeping a close eye on everything he does and supporting him.
